Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government announced key transfers and appointments of senior IAS officers on September 7, 2026, as part of a major administrative reshuffle.

The General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department issued the official notification by order of the Governor, announcing new responsibilities for senior IAS officers in several important departments.

Odisha IAS Transfers 2026: Suresh Vashishth Gets GA&PG Charge

Senior IAS officer Suresh Kumar Vashishth (IAS: 1998) has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Government, General Administration & Public Grievance Department.

Before the new posting, Vashishth was serving as Principal Secretary to the Government, Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, along with additional responsibilities.

He will continue to hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Government, Parliamentary Affairs Department.

The new posting places Vashishth in charge of a key department responsible for general administration and public grievance matters in the state.

Sudhansu Mohan Samal Appointed CMD of OMC

Sudhansu Mohan Samal (IAS: 2010), who was serving as Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Ltd., has been appointed Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd.

Samal will also retain his additional responsibility as Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division), Kataka.

Following his appointment as CMD, the additional appointment of Girish S N (IAS) as Chairman of OMC Ltd. will stand terminated once Samal takes charge.
