During the five-day visit, the Chief Minister attended the Odisha Investors’ Meet and held discussions with global investors to attract fresh capital to the state.

Three days of the visit were primarily focused on investor interactions, with the government seeking investments that can expand industrial activity and create employment opportunities.

The 24 MoUs signed during the visit represent proposed investments across multiple sectors. If the projects are implemented as planned, they could significantly expand Odisha’s industrial and employment landscape.

Officials said the proposed investments are spread across areas such as information technology, healthcare and industry.

The projects are expected to generate nearly 8 lakh jobs, including both direct and indirect employment. The agreements are part of the state’s efforts to attract investment from international businesses and strengthen its economic base.

The government has presented the UAE visit as an important step in connecting Odisha with global investors and expanding opportunities for industries in the state.

Odisha Government Highlights UAE Visit Outcome

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the agreements would contribute to Odisha’s development and rejected criticism from the opposition regarding the government’s investment efforts.

Swain claimed that the government’s performance during its first two years was comparable to the work done by previous governments over a longer period.

He also said foreign investment would provide a new direction to Odisha’s industrial sector and employment market.

The government will now have to take the investment proposals forward through the implementation process. The actual economic and employment impact will depend on how the projects progress from MoUs to ground-level execution.
