Pahalgam Mastermind Suleiman Shah Among 3 Terrorists Killed In Operation Mahadev

Published on

Srinagar: Operation Mahadev: In a major success for India’s counter-terror efforts, the Indian Army eliminated three terrorists, including top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Hashim Musa, in a swift operation named Operation Mahadev in Lidwas, Dachigam forests of Jammu and Kashmir.

The terrorists were believed to be part of the group responsible for the Pahalgam massacre, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including women and children, on April 22.

How Operation Mahadev Was Executed

According to Chinar Corps, contact with the terrorists was established at 12:37 PM. Within an hour, drone surveillance confirmed the elimination of all three terrorists, showing their bodies near a concealed forest trench.

Earlier, suspicious communication intercepts from deep inside the Dachigam region led to a two-day combing operation. Crucial intel from local nomadic communities helped narrow down the location of the terrorist hideout.

Joint Forces Use Surprise and Speed

A joint team of 24 Rashtriya Rifles and 4 PARA Commandos launched a precision strike using tactical advantage. The terrorists, hiding under dense forest cover in a makeshift trench, were ambushed and neutralised around 11:30 AM.

Security sources confirmed that the eliminated militants were part of a joint LeT–Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) module under watch for the past two weeks. Intelligence suggests the module had 5 to 7 active members.

The killing of Hashim Musa, a top LeT commander, is a significant blow to the group. Musa was considered a key planner in cross-border operations and is suspected of coordinating multiple attacks in South Kashmir, including the Pahalgam massacre.

Authorities are now working to formally identify the other two terrorists and confirm their involvement in the April 22 attack.

Aftermath of the Pahalgam Massacre

The Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 civilians were brutally killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists, shocked the entire nation. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor, a massive counter-offensive that destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, killing over 100 terrorists.

While Operation Sindoor sent a strong message across borders, Operation Mahadev is part of the ongoing effort to track down and neutralise those directly responsible for the massacre.

The Chinar Corps has confirmed that Operation Mahadev is still underway, with more searches and operations planned in the region. Authorities remain alert to the possibility of more terrorists hiding in nearby forested areas.
