Chasing a challenging 204-run target, Josh Inglis gave PBKS early momentum with a brisk 38 off 21 balls, including a 20-run over off Jasprit Bumrah. The real fireworks came from captain Shreyas Iyer, who played a match-winning knock of 87 off 45 balls*, striking eight sixes, and steering his side home with an over to spare.
Nehal Wadhera also played a key supporting role, scoring 48 off 29 balls, and sharing a vital 84-run partnership in 7.5 overs with Iyer to set the stage for victory.
Earlier, MI posted a solid 203/6 after being put in to bat. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav each contributed 44 runs, with support from Jonny Bairstow (38 off 24 balls) and Naman Dhir (37 off 18 balls). The Mumbai innings featured strong partnerships, including a 72-run stand between Tilak and Suryakumar.
On the bowling front, PBKS saw Azmatullah Omarzai return the best figures of 2/43, while Yuzvendra Chahal, Vyshak Vijaykumar, and Kyle Jamieson chipped in with a wicket apiece.
With this win, PBKS set up a final clash with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scheduled for Tuesday, as both teams vie for the IPL 2025 trophy.
