PM Modi Departs for Official Visit to United Kingdom and Maldives
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom and the Maldives, with the goal of strengthening bilateral ties and expanding strategic partnerships.
First Stop: United Kingdom
Mr. Modi is scheduled to arrive in London later tonight for the first leg of his tour. During his stay, he will hold bilateral discussions with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and also call on King Charles III.
In his departure statement, the Prime Minister noted that India and the UK share a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has seen substantial progress in recent years. He emphasized the breadth of cooperation between the two countries, covering trade, investment, technology, innovation, and defence.
“Our talks will focus on further enhancing the economic partnership that aims to promote prosperity, growth, and job creation in both nations,” Mr. Modi stated.

Next Destination: Maldives
Following his UK visit, PM Modi will travel to the Maldives from July 25 to 26, at the invitation of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, to mark the 60th anniversary of Maldivian Independence.
He expressed optimism about the visit, highlighting its importance in strengthening the Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership between the two nations.
“I look forward to my meeting with President Muizzu and other political leaders, confident that this visit will result in tangible outcomes and further India’s Neighbourhood First Policy,” the Prime Minister said.
