PM Modi Highlights Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, Inaugurates Major Metro & Vande Bharat Projects

Published on

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reaffirmed his government’s commitment to achieving Viksit Bharat 2047 with the active participation of every Indian.

Speaking at the inauguration of the third phase of Namma Metro in Bengaluru, the Prime Minister outlined various reforms, performance-driven initiatives, and transformative measures aimed at making India a developed nation. He recalled how India was once counted among the “fragile 10” economies before 2014 but now stands as the world’s fifth-largest and fastest-growing economy.

PM Modi noted the rapid expansion of metro rail, which has grown from operations in five cities to 24 cities, making India the third-largest metro network globally.

PM Modi’s Roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047

Earlier in the day, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for metro projects worth approximately ₹22,800 crore in Bengaluru. He also flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and Belagavi, along with virtual inaugurations of services from Amritsar to Katra and Nagpur to Pune. These trains are equipped with world-class facilities to enhance passenger experience.

During his address, PM Modi highlighted that this was his first visit to Bengaluru after Operation Sindoor, praising the Indian forces for their swift and decisive action against terrorist hideouts and forcing Pakistan into submission within hours. He attributed this success to India’s technological prowess and the strength of ‘Make in India’ in the defence sector.

Infrastructure Boost to Drive Viksit Bharat 2047 Vision

In Nagpur, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed gratitude for the launch of the Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express, the longest route in the country for this service. He noted that the train will benefit frequent travellers from Vidarbha to Pune, offering faster and more economical travel compared to private vehicles.

Meanwhile, Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked the Prime Minister for the Amritsar–Katra Vande Bharat service, stating it will ease travel for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims and boost the local economy.
