Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, this afternoon, inaugurated and laid the foundation for 15 major development initiatives valued at over ₹47,573 crore. Among these, he also flagged off a new metro corridor connecting Chunniganj and Nayaganj.
Addressing the public, Modi referenced Operation Sindoor, stating that the world witnessed the pain and determination of Indian daughters through the operation. He emphasized that multiple terror hubs in Pakistan were destroyed and warned that Operation Sindoor is ongoing. He declared that Pakistan, including its state and non-state actors, will face decisive retaliation and that the Indian armed forces’ bravery forced Pakistan to seek a ceasefire.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister visited Karakat in Bihar, where he inaugurated, dedicated, and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects worth over ₹48,520 crore. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the efforts of the “double-engine government” in accelerating Bihar’s progress.
Key projects included the inauguration of the Four-Lane Patna-Gaya-Dobhi section of NH-22, worth approximately ₹5,500 crore, and a segment of the elevated highway in Gopalganj Town on NH-27, valued at over ₹249 crore. These developments aim to significantly boost connectivity between Patna and the historic city of Gaya. Additionally, Modi dedicated the third railway line between Son Nagar and Mohammad Ganj, a project costing over ₹1,330 crore, to the nation.
