PM Modi Manipur Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur on September 13, marking his first visit to the violence-affected state in over two years. During the trip, the PM will lay foundation stones and inaugurate multiple development projects aimed at boosting connectivity, infrastructure, and women empowerment in the state.

PM Modi Manipur Visit to Launch ₹7,300 Crore Projects

At Churachandpur, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹7,300 crore. These include the Manipur Urban Roads, drainage, and asset management improvement project valued at ₹3,600 crore, five National Highway projects worth more than ₹2,500 crore, and the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project.

Additionally, he will launch Working Women Hostels at nine different locations across the state, promoting safer accommodation and empowerment for women professionals.

Infrastructure and IT Projects in Imphal

In Imphal, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth more than ₹1,200 crore. These include the newly built Civil Secretariat, an IT SEZ Building, and the New Police Headquarters at Mantripukhri.

Manipur Bhawans at Delhi and Kolkata will also be inaugurated, further strengthening administrative and cultural connectivity between the northeastern state and the rest of India.

Focus on Women Empowerment

One of the highlights of the Prime Minister’s Manipur visit will be the inauguration of new Ima Markets, the iconic all-women marketplaces of the state, in four districts. These markets are a historic symbol of women’s participation in trade and grassroots economy, and their expansion is expected to benefit thousands of women vendors.

PM Modi Manipur Visit a Turning Point for Development

The upcoming visit is being seen as a significant step towards rebuilding peace and development in the state. The focus on road projects, IT infrastructure, and women-led initiatives underlines the government’s commitment to holistic growth in Manipur.

The projects are expected to not only improve connectivity and employment opportunities but also help restore public confidence in a state that has faced prolonged ethnic unrest.
