The incident occurred on Sunday morning as a large number of devotees were making their way to the Mansa Devi Temple, situated atop Bilwa Parvat. Initial investigations suggest that a rumour about an electric shock triggered panic, leading to the stampede.

Authorities have confirmed six deaths and multiple injuries. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
