Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended warm greetings to the people of India on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. In a social media post, he said that this day is not just a celebration of the nation’s freedom but also an opportunity to remember the courage, sacrifice and unwavering dedication of the countless heroes who fought for India’s independence.

He emphasised that citizens should draw inspiration from their ideals and unite to build a secure, strong and prosperous Viksit Bharat.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his greetings to the countrymen and paid tribute to the freedom fighters who gave their lives during the struggle for independence. In his message, he saluted the brave soldiers who protect the unity, integrity and pride of the nation day and night.

Mr Shah appealed to all citizens to come together, fulfil the dreams of the martyrs of the freedom movement and pledge to contribute towards building a developed and self-reliant India across all sectors.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also extended his best wishes to the nation on the occasion of Independence Day.
