Mumbai: Ahaan Pandey has officially made his Bollywood debut with Yash Raj Films’ much-anticipated romantic drama Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri. Starring alongside Aneet Padda, the film has had an impressive opening at the box office, driven by strong advance bookings and public interest.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Saiyaara collected ₹14.07 crore by evening on its opening day. With night shows yet to be accounted for, the film is expected to surpass ₹15 crore by the end of Day 1.
Occupancy & Show Data
On Friday, Saiyaara witnessed an overall occupancy of 44.33%, broken down as:
- Morning Shows: 35.51%
- Afternoon Shows: 46.62%
- Evening Shows: 50.85%
- Night Shows: Data awaited
The makers even added midnight screenings due to rising demand. The Delhi NCR region led the way with 804 shows, recording the highest occupancy rates, followed by Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.
Box Office Prediction and Critical Response
Film trade expert Taran Adarsh hailed Saiyaara as a “blockbuster,” stating:
“Saiyaara dares to be different and succeeds gloriously. Mohit Suri delivers a powerful romantic drama with emotional depth, gripping screenplay, and an unforgettable soundtrack. Ahaan Pandey delivers a smashing debut, while Aneet Padda shines with a flawless and emotionally rich performance.”
He predicted a strong box office run, calling it “one of the finest films to come out of YRF.”
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel projected that the film could gross anywhere between ₹200 to ₹300 crore during its theatrical run.
Though the film received mixed reviews from critics, audiences have responded overwhelmingly positively on social media, praising its music, emotional storyline, and debut performances.
