Social security pensioners in Odisha to get 300 in winter

Bhubaneswar: Social security pensioners in Odisha: The Odisha government has decided to provide winter allowance to social security beneficiaries, a senior official of the Social Security and Disability Empowerment Department said on Saturday.

Under the scheme, every pensioner will get a lump sum of Rs 300 in December. More than 48 Lakh beneficiaries will receive the contribution in their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). According to sources in the Social Security and Empowerment Department, around Rs 14.62 crore will be spent on the Social security pensioners in Odisha scheme.

Notably, the beneficiaries covered under the Odisha social security scheme were earlier given a summer allowance of Rs 100 per beneficiary.
