Twin City Police Issue Traffic Advisory for Presidential Visit On July 14-15

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for July 14 and 15, coinciding with the two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Odisha. The advisory outlines diversions and restrictions to ensure public safety and smooth vehicular movement during the high-profile visit.

The traffic regulations have been invoked under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008.

Traffic Diversions & Restrictions

July 14, Sunday:

  • Goods vehicles (six or more wheels) coming from Khurdha to Cuttack via Bhubaneswar will be diverted at Pitapalli Square through Chandaka Square.
  • Similarly, goods vehicles from Cuttack side will be diverted at Balikuda Square toward Pitapalli Square via Chandaka Square.

July 15, Monday:

  • No goods carriers (six or more wheels including trucks and trailers) will be allowed within Bhubaneswar and Cuttack or on NH-16 between 6 AM and 7 PM.

Emergency Services Exempted

These traffic restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire brigades, or police vehicles. The Commissionerate has emphasized the importance of public cooperation and advised commuters to plan their routes in advance to avoid delays.

Public Appeal for Cooperation

With multiple official engagements lined up for President Murmu in both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the twin-city police have urged citizens to adhere to the advisory and make use of alternate routes wherever possible.

For updates, the public is encouraged to follow the official social media handles of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate.
