- NTA has released provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC NET June 2026 examination.
- Candidates can challenge the provisional keys online until August 18.
- A processing fee of Rs 200 per challenged question applies.
NEW DELHI: The UGC-NET June 2026 answer key has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for 84 subjects, giving candidates an opportunity to check their recorded responses and raise objections before the final answer key is prepared.
The challenge window is open until August 18. Candidates who believe an answer is incorrect can submit a challenge through the official UGC-NET portal, but each objection must be supported by relevant documentary evidence.
The latest development is an important stage in the examination process because accepted challenges can lead to corrections in the final answer key and subsequently affect the evaluation of candidates.
UGC-NET June 2026 Answer Key Challenge Window
Candidates challenging the provisional answer key will have to pay a processing fee of Rs 200 for every question they contest.
The fee must be paid by August 18, which is also the deadline for submitting challenges. NTA has made it clear that objections sent through any method other than the prescribed online process will not be considered.
Candidates should therefore carefully verify the question number, answer option and supporting evidence before submitting an objection. Once submitted, challenges will be examined as part of the process for determining the final answer key.
UGC-NET June 2026 Answer Key: Three Subjects Under Review
NTA has separately addressed complaints concerning possible errors in question papers for three subjects, English, Commerce and Sociology.
A committee has been constituted to examine the complaints and make recommendations. NTA said a separate public notice covering these three subjects will be issued later today based on the committee’s findings.
This means candidates from these subjects should wait for the specific update rather than rely on information circulating through unofficial sources.
UGC-NET June 2026 Candidates Get Key Deadline
The August 18 deadline is the immediate date candidates need to keep in mind. Those planning to challenge an answer should complete both the objection submission and fee payment within the specified window.
NTA has also advised candidates to depend only on information published through its official website and verified social media accounts.
The provisional answer key stage allows the examination agency to address legitimate objections before finalising evaluation. Candidates should therefore review their answer keys carefully and preserve relevant evidence if they decide to file a challenge.
