Young Woman Gang-Raped in Jagatsinghpur; Police Launch Manhunt for Suspects

Jagatsinghpur: In a horrifying incident, a young woman was allegedly gang-raped in Jagatsinghpur district while on her way to her uncle’s house for a birthday celebration.

According to the FIR filed by the victim’s father, the main accused, identified as T. Bhoi, forcefully dragged the woman to a secluded field despite her attempts to resist. There, two more men, already present at the spot, gagged and took turns assaulting her.

Victim in Critical Condition

The survivor sustained serious injuries and heavy bleeding, and is currently receiving treatment at the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital. Her condition is reported to be critical.

The accused also threatened to kill her if she reported the crime to the police.

The Jagatsinghpur Sadar Police have detained a woman suspected of assisting the accused and are currently interrogating her. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the three absconding suspects, and a thorough investigation is ongoing.

The incident has triggered widespread outrage and demands for swift justice, with many calling for immediate arrest and strict punishment for the culprits.

Authorities have assured that the investigation is being pursued with the highest priority, and efforts are on to ensure justice for the survivor.
