SSC CGL New Exam Date 2025 Out: Tier 1 Scheduled from 12th to 26th September

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CGL New Exam Date 2025, putting an end to the long wait of lakhs of aspirants. According to the latest notification issued on 3rd September 2025, the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will now be conducted from 12th September to 26th September 2025.

The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam, earlier postponed, will take place over 15 consecutive days, including weekends, with a single shift per day. Around 28 lakh candidates are expected to appear for this year’s examination, which is being conducted to fill 14,582 vacancies under Group B and C posts.

SSC CGL New Exam Date 2025: Official Schedule Released

As per the notification, the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam will be held on 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th September 2025. The official notice confirming the revised exam dates has been uploaded on the SSC website www.ssc.gov.in.

Candidates can check their exam city details from 3rd September 2025 onwards by logging into the official portal. The admit cards (Admission Certificates) will be released 2 to 3 days before the respective exam date and will contain complete details, including the venue and reporting time.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025 Shift Timings

In a significant update, SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan announced that the Tier 1 examination will now be held in a single shift each day. The exact timing of the exam and reporting instructions will be clearly mentioned in the city intimation slip and admit card issued to candidates.

SSC CGL 2025 Exam Pattern for Tier 1

The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be qualifying in nature, meaning its marks will not be included in the final merit list. However, candidates must score above the cut-off to qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process. The pattern is as follows:

  • Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test)
  • Subjects: 4 (General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension)
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Duration: 60 minutes (1 hour)

SSC CGL Exam 2025: Key Instructions for Candidates

Candidates must regularly visit the SSC official website for the latest updates. They should carefully check their exam city intimation slip and download their admit card before the exam day. The Commission has strictly advised candidates to appear only at their allotted center and carry all necessary documents as instructed.
