New Delhi: A helicopter carrying President Droupadi Murmu encountered an unexpected incident on Wednesday when a section of the helipad tarmac at Pramadam Stadium in Kerala partially sank moments after landing. The President is on an official four-day visit to the state, during which she is scheduled to offer prayers at the Sabarimala temple.

According to PTI, police and fire department personnel swiftly took action after noticing that the helipad surface had caved in. They manually pushed the helicopter away from the sunken spot to prevent any potential mishap. Authorities confirmed that all safety protocols were followed and that President Murmu remained unharmed during the incident.
Her visit to Kerala began on October 21 and will conclude on October 24. Upon her arrival at Thiruvananthapuram Airport, she was accorded a formal welcome by state dignitaries and officials.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan posted on X, describing her visit as “a great honour for the state and our people.”
