JODHPUR: The PM Modi Rajasthan visit marked the launch of several major infrastructure and connectivity projects aimed at boosting aviation, energy and urban development. During his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly constructed terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, launched the revamped UDAN regional connectivity scheme and unveiled projects collectively valued at around Rs 1.06 lakh crore.
The Prime Minister was received at Jodhpur Air Force Station by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and other senior dignitaries before proceeding to the inauguration ceremony.

The newly inaugurated terminal at Jodhpur Airport has been constructed at a cost of Rs 480 crore and is designed to handle up to 20 lakh passengers annually. The facility is expected to improve passenger services and strengthen air connectivity in western Rajasthan.

- Inauguration of the new Jodhpur Airport terminal built at Rs 480 crore.
- Launch of the revamped UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme with an investment plan exceeding Rs 28,000 crore over the next decade.
- Inauguration of India’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra, developed at a cost of more than Rs 79,000 crore.
- Foundation stone laying for Jaipur Metro Rail Phase II, estimated at Rs 13,000 crore.
- Distribution of appointment letters to 54,000 newly recruited government employees under the Rozgar Mela initiative.
The upgraded UDAN scheme aims to expand regional aviation, improve connectivity to underserved areas and stimulate economic growth through enhanced air transport infrastructure.

The projects announced during the visit span multiple sectors, including civil aviation, energy, urban transport and employment generation. Together, they represent one of the largest infrastructure investment packages announced for Rajasthan.
The second-order impact of these initiatives could include improved regional connectivity, faster industrial development, increased private investment and greater employment opportunities.
