NEW DELHI: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi has launched the Garbhini Mitra course 2026 for the 2026-27 academic session, creating a new training pathway focused on Ayurveda-based maternal wellness support.

The six-month programme is designed to prepare trained personnel who can provide health education, lifestyle guidance and community-level support to women during pregnancy and after childbirth.

The initiative has been announced under the Ministry of AYUSH’s broader focus on strengthening traditional wellness practices and trained human resources.

Garbhini Mitra Course 2026: Eligibility and Application

Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply for the programme.

Applicants are required to have passed the Senior Secondary examination from a recognised board (+2). Eligible candidates must submit their applications by August 31, 2026.

The course is intended for candidates interested in maternal wellness support and Ayurveda-based community services.

Garbhini Mitra Course 2026 Career Opportunities

After completing the programme, candidates can work in several support-oriented roles connected with maternal wellness.

Possible roles include Garbhini Mitra Assistants, Prenatal or Postnatal Care Assistants, Antenatal Wellness Guides and Maternal Health Support Workers.

Ayurveda Concepts Covered in Garbhini Mitra Course

Key concepts include Garbhini Paricharya, which focuses on care during pregnancy, Sutika Paricharya, associated with postnatal care, and Garbhadhana Vidhi, relating to traditional Ayurvedic concepts concerning conception.
