US Open 2026: The US Open 2026 quarterfinals feature defending champions Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz, with several major clashes scheduled at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
Top-seeded Sabalenka will face sixth seed and reigning Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova in the women’s draw, while defending men’s champion Alcaraz will meet eighth seed American Ben Shelton.
US Open 2026 Quarterfinals: Sabalenka vs Noskova
Aryna Sabalenka will take on Linda Noskova in the opening women’s quarterfinal on Tuesday, September 8.
Sabalenka entered the last eight after defeating Taylor Townsend in straight sets, while Noskova reached the quarterfinals after beating Marta Kostyuk in a three-set contest.
The official US Open schedule lists Sabalenka and Noskova as the first match on Arthur Ashe Stadium, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. local time.
Tiafoe and Michelsen Set for All-American Clash
The other men’s quarterfinal on Tuesday features an all-American matchup between 11th seed Frances Tiafoe and unseeded Alex Michelsen.
Tiafoe reached the last eight after defeating former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, while Michelsen advanced with a win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
The match will add another all-American contest to the quarterfinal lineup.
Alcaraz vs Shelton Headlines Men’s Quarterfinals
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will face eighth seed Ben Shelton in one of the biggest men’s quarterfinals.
Alcaraz reached the last eight after beating Tommy Paul in straight sets. Shelton also advanced in straight sets against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The official US Open schedule lists Alcaraz vs Shelton as the second match of the Arthur Ashe Stadium night session on Tuesday.
Shelton will be looking to end Alcaraz’s unbeaten Grand Slam record against him. The American has lost all three of his previous meetings with the Spaniard.
Other Women’s Quarterfinals
The women’s draw also features two more high-profile matches.
Jessica Pegula will face fellow American Emma Navarro in an all-American quarterfinal. Pegula reached the last eight after defeating Sorana Cirstea, while Navarro advanced past Anna Kalinskaya.
Coco Gauff will meet fifth seed Mirra Andreeva, while second seed Elena Rybakina will face Qinwen Zheng. Both matches are scheduled for Wednesday, September 9.
US Open 2026 Men’s Quarterfinal Lineup
The remaining men’s quarterfinals also feature several notable players.
Top seed Alexander Zverev will face Botic van de Zandschulp, while 28th seed Alexander Blockx will meet Karen Khachanov.
The quarterfinal stage therefore features a mix of defending champions, top seeds, established stars and players making deep runs at the tournament.
The US Open quarterfinals are now set to determine the players who will move into the final four of the year’s final Grand Slam tournament.
