New Delhi: American singer and actress Mary Millben has alleged that US-based donors opposed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi are financially supporting the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), led by Abhijeet Dipke. She has urged young Indians to organise and peacefully protest against the political outfit.

In a post on X on Wednesday, October 14, Millben claimed that the alleged funding was intended to oppose Modi and his leadership. She did not provide publicly verifiable evidence for the funding allegation in the statement cited in media reports.

“This is not the time to be silent,” Millben said in her appeal to young Indians.

She also expressed support for Modi, referring to his years in public life and urging young people to stand against what she described as disruptive political forces.

Millben Calls for Peaceful Counter-Movement

Millben alleged that certain US-based donors follow a pattern of supporting people educated in the United States who later return to their home countries and engage in activities aimed at challenging conservative political leaders.

“These select donors have a pattern globally – target conservative global leaders, find a US-educated person from the country, radicalise them, send them back to the country, and fund them to start chaos and destruction,” she claimed.

The singer argued that such alleged activities could affect development and governance even when the individuals involved failed to achieve their intended objectives.

Calling for a counter-movement, Millben urged young Indians to organise and peacefully oppose CJP.

“It is time for a new voice in India, born, raised, educated on the soil of India, to rise up, organise, and peacefully protest the disruptive spirit of the Cockroach Party,” she said.

Her remarks add to the political debate surrounding the party and its protests against the Election Commission.

CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Rejects Foreign-Funding Claims

The allegations come amid a wider controversy over CJP’s funding and its activities.

BJP leaders have previously questioned the sources of financial support behind Dipke and the organisation. BJP president Nitin Nabin and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey have also raised allegations concerning possible foreign backing, according to media reports.

Dipke has rejected the foreign-funding allegations. He has argued that if overseas money had entered CJP’s activities, it would raise questions about the Union Home Ministry’s ability to prevent such funding.

He has also challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to explain how foreign funds could enter the country under the ministry’s watch.

The allegations made by Millben do not, by themselves, establish that CJP has received money from US-based donors. Independent documentary evidence or an official finding would be needed to substantiate the claim.

CJP Protests Over Electoral Roll Revision

Millben’s remarks come amid protests by CJP and other opposition supporters in New Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The protests concern the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Critics have alleged irregularities in the process, while the Election Commission has disputed claims of political bias and said voters whose names are removed can re-register where eligible.

The dispute has become part of a broader political confrontation over voter registration, electoral transparency and the role of opposition movements.

Millben has called for a peaceful counter-movement against CJP, while the organisation and its supporters have continued to raise concerns about the electoral revision exercise.

Who Is Mary Millben?

Mary Millben is an American singer and actress known in India for her performances of the national anthem, Jana Gana Mana, and the devotional song Om Jai Jagdish Hare.

In 2023, she performed India’s national anthem during an event in the United States associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. She has also publicly praised Modi and his leadership.

Millben has previously commented on political controversies involving India and the United States, including opposition to an event featuring Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat in New York.

Her latest remarks have brought renewed attention to the political dispute surrounding CJP. However, the question of whether the organisation has received foreign funding remains separate from her public allegations and Dipke’s denial.
