Odisha Youth Arrested For Killing Parrot

Angul: Odisha Youth Arrested For Killing Parrot, In a horrifying event reported from Odisha’s Angul district, a 25-year-old man was detained for reportedly killing a parrot and posting a video of the deed on social media.

The accused has been identified as Baiga Pitali, a resident of Nakati Deul, Athamallik.

According to accounts, forest department authorities identified his mobile number from an Instagram video and arrested him. Santosh Kumar Koppula, the Athamallik Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), confirmed the arrest and stated that the parrot died as a result of hanging.

During the interrogation, it was revealed that the parrot was brutally slain after pecking at black gram crops. Pitali, on the other hand, stated that he just captured the footage and that someone else was responsible for the bird’s death.

The forest department has initiated a manhunt for the second suspect.

A case has been filed against Pitali under Section 9 of the Wildlife Protection Act, and further investigation is continuing, according to officials.
