PM Modi Visit To Thailand, India & Thailand Sign Six Agreements During Bilateral Talks

Published on

India and Thailand have signed six agreements to enhance cooperation in key sectors, including IT, maritime collaboration, MSMEs, and the handicrafts and handloom industries. The agreements were formalized following bilateral discussions between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra in Bangkok.

During the talks, both leaders reviewed bilateral ties and explored ways to boost collaboration, while also exchanging views on regional and multilateral issues. Upon his arrival in Thailand for the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, PM Modi was welcomed with a ceremonial guard of honor.

In a social media post, PM Modi expressed enthusiasm about strengthening India-Thailand relations and acknowledged the deep cultural connections between the two nations. He also witnessed a performance of the Thai Ramayana, Ramakien, highlighting shared civilizational ties across Asia.

The 6th BIMSTEC Summit, themed “BIMSTEC – Prosperous, Resilient, and Open,” will see the adoption of the Bangkok Vision 2030 and the endorsement of the BIMSTEC Eminent Persons’ Group Report to shape the future of regional cooperation.

Following the Summit, PM Modi will embark on a three-day state visit to Sri Lanka at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. This visit underscores the deep historical, cultural, and strategic ties between India and Sri Lanka, reinforcing India’s Neighbourhood First policy.
