PM Modi Tops Global Popularity Chart with 75% Approval Rating: Morning Consult Survey

Published on

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked the world’s most popular democratic leader with a 75% approval rating, according to the latest global survey conducted by US-based data analytics firm Morning Consult.

The survey, based on public sentiment gathered between July 4 and 10, 2025, places Modi well ahead of his international counterparts in terms of public support.

Modi Leads Global Democratic Leaders

Trailing Modi on the list is South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, who holds a 59% approval rating, followed by Argentine President Javier Milei at 57%.

The data reflects a rolling seven-day average of approval ratings among adult populations in over 20 countries, making it one of the most reliable trackers of global political sentiment.

Dominant Global Standing Reflects Local and International Popularity

PM Modi, who began his third consecutive term in May 2024, continues to dominate Morning Consult’s Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker. The high approval reflects not only his strong domestic base but also growing international recognition as a global statesman.

Trump Ranks Eighth with 44% Approval

In contrast, US President Donald Trump, who returned to office in 2024, holds a 44% approval rating, placing him eighth on the list. Other leaders of major democracies, such as those from Europe and the Americas, continue to trail behind in public perception.

Modi Becomes India’s Second-Longest Serving PM

The recognition coincides with another significant milestone in PM Modi’s political journey. As of July 26, 2025, he has completed 4,079 days in office, surpassing Indira Gandhi to become India’s second-longest serving Prime Minister in an uninterrupted term.

He now stands just behind Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, in terms of continuous tenure.
