Balanga Minor Girl Set Ablaze to Be Airlifted to Delhi AIIMS for Advanced Treatment Today

Published on

Bhubaneswar: A 16-year-old girl from Balanga in Puri district, who sustained 75% burn injuries after being set on fire by unidentified miscreants, is scheduled to be airlifted to Delhi AIIMS today for specialized medical treatment. She is currently receiving care at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Patient’s Condition Stable, Says AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director

Prof. Dr. Asutosh Biswas, Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, confirmed that the girl’s vitals are stable and all arrangements for her airlifting are in place. “We plan to airlift her to Delhi AIIMS by 12 noon. Her condition has improved, and preparations have been made accordingly,” Dr. Biswas stated.

Horrific Incident and Medical Update

The minor girl was reportedly abducted while on her way to meet friends and taken to a riverside location, where she was brutally set on fire. Despite suffering severe burns, she remains conscious and responsive, with stable blood pressure and other vital signs.

Family and Medical Team to Accompany Her

A team of doctors from AIIMS Bhubaneswar and one of the victim’s family members will travel with her to Delhi. The hospital in the capital has been alerted, and a bed has been reserved for her immediate admission.

A close relative of the girl said, “We have consulted with the medical team, and they’ve confirmed her condition is stable enough for transfer. The family has agreed, and all logistics are ready.”

CM Majhi Promises Swift Justice

The brutal attack has triggered outrage across Odisha. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi condemned the incident and assured strict action against the culprits. “The guilty will not be spared. An in-depth investigation is underway to uncover the truth and determine if a larger conspiracy is involved,” the Chief Minister said.
