Bhupender Yadav Launched Aravalli Green Wall Project, Tikli village near Gurugram
New Delhi: Union Minister for Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change, Shri Shri Bhupender Yadav launched Aravalli green wall project, Tikili village near Gurugram. This project is taking steps to revive the Aravallis under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This includes a ban on single-use plastics, water conservation efforts, and the protection of natural resources.
At an event for the International Day of Forests held in Tikli Village in Haryana today, Shri Bhupender Yadav launched Aravalli Green Wall Project, an important initiative to green the 5 kilometre buffer area around the Aravalli Hill Range in four states.
On the event, Shri Yadav released the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education’s FAQ on agro-forestry as well as the National Action Plan to Combat Desertification and Land Degradation Through Forestry Interventions. Additionally, the Union Minister took part in a plantation drive.

Speaking on this occasion, the Union Minister stated that the Aravalli Green Wall Project will enhance the region’s soil fertility, water accessibility, and climate resilience in addition to increasing the green cover and biodiversity of the Aravalli through afforestation, reforestation, and water body restoration.
According to him, the project will assist the neighbourhood by offering job possibilities, income production, and ecological services. He commended the Haryana Forest Department’s efforts and those of the other project stakeholders for their collaboration and support, and he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to achieving the national objective of adding 2.5 billion tonnes of carbon sinks by 2030.
About Aravalli Green Wall Project
The Union Environment Ministry’s goal of establishing green corridors throughout the nation to fight desertification and land degradation includes the Aravalli Green Wall Project. The Aravalli hills cover more than 6 million hectares of land in the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Delhi, which are included in the project.
On scrubland, wasteland, and degraded forest land, natural tree and shrub species will be planted, and surface water bodies like ponds, lakes, and streams will be revitalized and restored. To improve the livelihoods of the surrounding populations, the initiative will also concentrate on agroforestry and pasture development.
