Bomb Blast in Khordha District Claims One Life, Leaves Another Critically Injured

A bomb explosion near Biswal Sahi in Shedheiagarh village, Khordha district, in the early hours of Monday resulted in one fatality and left another individual critically injured.

The deceased has been identified as Nirakar Singh, while the injured, Lulu Senapati, is also a resident of Shedheiagarh. The incident occurred while the two were allegedly transporting an explosive device on a motorcycle.

Reports indicate that the bomb detonated unexpectedly during the ride, causing Singh’s immediate death. Senapati sustained severe injuries and was initially taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he remains in critical condition under intensive care.

The origin of the explosive and the purpose of its transport remain unknown. The blast was so intense that it completely destroyed the motorcycle.

Upon receiving information, police rushed to the site and initiated an investigation. A forensic team and bomb squad have also been deployed to analyze the remnants of the explosive device.
