NEW DELHI: The Congress legal aid paper leak protests initiative was announced on Tuesday, with the party offering legal support to young people who were arrested, detained or allegedly attacked during ongoing demonstrations over the paper leak issue.

The announcement comes amid continuing protests in several places, where students and youth organisations have demanded accountability and action over alleged examination paper leaks.

Congress Directs Legal Team to Assist Protesters

Congress general secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said the All India Congress Committee (AICC) had instructed its legal team to provide all possible assistance to affected youths.

According to Ramesh, the party’s legal cell will help individuals who require legal representation or guidance in connection with cases arising from the protests.

He also shared contact details and a Google Form through which those seeking legal aid can register their information so that the Congress legal team can reach out to them.

Party Urges Affected Youths to Register for Legal Support

The Congress appealed to students and young people who believe they need legal assistance to submit their details through the online registration form.

The party said the initiative aims to ensure that those facing legal proceedings or other difficulties linked to the protests receive appropriate legal support.

Paper Leak Issue Continues to Draw Political Attention

The paper leak issue has become a major political flashpoint, with Opposition parties demanding greater accountability and stronger safeguards to protect the integrity of public examinations.

The Congress has maintained that students should not suffer because of alleged irregularities in the examination process and said its legal initiative is intended to support affected youths through the judicial process.
