“India is on track to become the world’s leading job creator.” To succeed globally, we no longer require degrees, but rather competency related to skilling. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which focuses on vocational education, is a move in the right direction, according to Pradhan.

He also stated that the definition of skilling should be expanded beyond menial jobs. “We intend to bring about a paradigm shift in order to create a future workforce that is technologically equipped.” In three years time, you will see farmers in pant-shirt operating drones in their fields,” he added.

Meanwhile, Pradhan inaugurated the Future of Work expo, which will be held at the CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from April 23rd to 28th.
