ChatGPT paid version available for $42 a month for users

Published on

Bengaluru: Some ChatGPT users posted on social media on Monday that they had been granted access to the ChatGPT paid version, which costs $42 per month. OpenAI, the Microsoft-owned artificial intelligence company that developed the sensational chatbot, has yet to confirm the price.

AI developer Zahid Khawaja posted a screenshot of ChatGPT’s pricing, which shows $42 per month. He said the paid system responds faster than the free version. However, another Twitter user wrote that “I really wanted to pay for the plan, but $42 is just too much.”

AI research organization OpenAI said it will soon monetize its ChatGPT’s platform after seeing a mammoth response to its AI chatbot that can write poems, essays, emails and even code.

The Microsoft-owned company said it is “beginning to think about how to monetize ChatGPT” as a way to “ensure long-term viability.”

“Working on a professional version of ChatGPT; will offer higher limits and faster performance,” said Greg Brockman, president and co-founder of OpenAI.

ChatGPT last reported over a million users. ChatGPT’s Professional will always be available (no blackout windows), fast responses from ChatGPT and as many messages as you need (daily limit).

“If you are selected, we will contact you to set up the payment process and the pilot project. Please keep in mind that this is an early experimental program that is subject to change, and we generally do not make paid professional access available at this time,” the company said.
