IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert Across Multiple Indian States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations in Coastal Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Uttarakhand today. Meanwhile, areas across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, and the northeastern states are likely to experience heavy rain over the next two to three days.

Thunderstorms and Lightning Forecast for Eastern and Island Regions

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning have been predicted for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as well as Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. The IMD also warned of thunder squalls in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which are expected to continue until July 26.

Telangana Under Orange and Yellow Rainfall Alerts

The IMD has issued a significant rainfall alert for Telangana, placing 12 districts under an orange alert for very heavy rain and 17 others under a yellow alert for heavy rain. Districts under the orange alert include Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Medak, Kamareddy, and Nagarkurnool.

City Forecast: Hyderabad to See Cloudy Skies and Thunderstorms

The weather forecast for Hyderabad and its surrounding areas indicates generally cloudy skies over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, accompanied by sustained surface winds, are likely to occur in various parts of the city.
