IND vs SL: Virat Kohli Breaks Spectacular Record With 46th ODI Hundred

Virat Kohli, India’s batting sensation, hit his 74th career and 46th ODI century against Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI of the three-match series, setting fans igniting.

Kohli’s third century in his last four ODI innings sparked outrage on social media. Notably, Kohli has already scored two centuries in the first 15 days of the new year 2023. Many of his fans believe that King Kohli is back to his best form since the T20 World Cup 2022.

Kohli surpasses Tendulkar’s record with century against Sri Lanka

The 34-year-old even surpassed Mahela Jayawardene on the list of highest ODI run-getters. The former Sri Lanka captain has 12650 runs at an average of 33.37 from 448 games, including 17 centuries and 77 fifties.

Meanwhile, Shubhman Gill, who opened the innings for, took 89 balls to complete his second ODI century against Sri Lanka in the third ODI in Trivandrum.

During the first wicket stand, the duo added 95 runs while opening the batting alongside skipper Rohit Sharma. While Rohit’s dismissal for 42 runs reduced India to 95/1, Gill didn’t look back and went on to complete his century in 89 balls.

The 23-year-old then added 131 runs off 110 balls with former India captain Kohli. The opener was bowled out by Kasun Ranjit two overs after reaching his century. Gill, on the other hand, became a major talking point among fans, who praised him for proving his inclusion in the starting XI correct.
