India has extended its ban on Pakistani airline flights using Indian airspace until June 23, 2025, according to official sources.
The restriction, initially imposed on April 30 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, was originally set to end on May 23. However, a new Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) issued on Friday confirms the extension.
The restriction applies to all aircraft registered in Pakistan, as well as those operated, owned, or leased by Pakistani airlines or operators—including military aircraft.
The airspace closure is one of several punitive steps taken by India following the attack. On April 23, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, closed the Attari border crossing, and downgraded diplomatic relations with Pakistan.
In retaliation, Pakistan banned Indian aircraft from its airspace starting April 24 and halted all trade with India, including via third countries.
