Justice Will Be Delivered in FM College Case, No One Will Be Spared: BJP’s Biranchi Tripathi

Published on

Bhubaneswar: The tragic death of 20-year-old Soumyashree Bisi, a student of Fakir Mohan Autonomous College, continues to stir strong reactions across Odisha. Biranchi Narayan Tripathi, BJP State Vice President, on Tuesday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering justice without bias, assuring that all responsible individuals will face legal action, not just the college principal or department head.

CM, President Droupadi Murmu Extend Support

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who visited AIIMS Bhubaneswar during the student’s treatment, has met the grieving family twice. An ex-gratia of ₹20 lakh was announced from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Notably, President Droupadi Murmu also met the victim and her family during her recent visit to Odisha.

Tripathi Slams Opposition for ‘Politicising Tragedy’

Tripathi accused the BJD and Congress of using the incident for political gain, claiming they are attempting to malign the victim’s character on social media.

“Such insensitive actions insult the grieving family and will not be forgiven by the people of Odisha,” he said.

He further criticized the BJD’s protest in Bhubaneswar, calling it politically motivated and poorly attended.

“Despite ruling Odisha for 24 years and claiming world-class healthcare, BJD leaders themselves opt for private hospitals,” he remarked.

BJP Vows Action Beyond Symbolism

Tripathi emphasized that the government’s efforts are not symbolic.

“This isn’t limited to a few officials—anyone guilty of negligence or harassment will be brought to book. We will not tolerate crimes against women,” he said.

Refers to Past Cases Under BJD Rule

Tripathi also referenced past high-profile cases including Itishree, Mamita, Smitarani, and Kunduli, questioning the BJD’s track record on women’s safety.

“During the Kunduli case, while the victim’s family was reportedly silenced, the then CM was busy celebrating awards,” he alleged.

Tripathi assured that the BJP government is actively working to prevent such tragedies and enforce a zero-tolerance policy on violence against women.
