Mumbai: Television actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary has spoken candidly about stepping into the iconic role in “Naagin 7” and dealing with inevitable comparisons with actresses who previously portrayed the popular shape-shifting serpent. In an exclusive interaction with IANS, the actress shared that she remains focused on giving her best performance and views comparisons as a natural part of working on a long-running and successful franchise.

Priyanka explained that she prefers to concentrate on her character and her own journey rather than getting affected by public opinions. She emphasised that comparisons are unavoidable in any profession, especially when a show has such a rich legacy, but she chooses to look at them positively and channel her energy into her work.

Addressing the topic of being compared to previous Naagin actresses, Priyanka said that such discussions are completely normal. She noted that since the show has completed six successful seasons, several actresses have portrayed iconic Naagin characters that audiences continue to remember and admire.

“Yes, definitely, comparisons will be there, and that is very normal. I feel one should take them in a positive way because comparisons happen everywhere,” she said. Priyanka added that every season of the show has had its own identity, and her goal in Season 7 is to honour that legacy while giving her 100 per cent effort to the role.

The actress further shared that the entire team behind “Naagin 7” is working with complete dedication to deliver a compelling season. She stressed that she is approaching her character with sincerity and honesty, focusing entirely on performing her role to the best of her abilities.

“In Season 7 as well, we are giving our best and putting in our 100 per cent effort. I will try to carry forward the legacy the way it has been so far,” Priyanka said. She reiterated that her priority is to stay true to her character and continue to grow as an actor through this challenging and exciting opportunity.

Priyanka also acknowledged the strong foundation laid by previous seasons of the franchise. “Naagin 4” featured Nia Sharma as Brinda and Jasmin Bhasin as Nayantara, alongside Vijayendra Kumeria as Dev. “Naagin 5” starred Surbhi Chandna, Sharad Malhotra, and Mohit Sehgal, while “Naagin 6” featured Tejasswi Prakash, Simba Nagpal, Mahek Chahal, Pratik Sehajpal, Shrey Mittal, and Vatsal Sheth.

With “Naagin 7,” the makers aim to continue the successful run of the series, and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary’s entry has already generated significant buzz among fans and television audiences.
