New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a philosophical and transformative framework aimed at building a future-ready, inclusive education system, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Speaking at the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025, Pradhan highlighted that NEP 2020 has transcended policy to become a living mission—successfully reaching classrooms, campuses, and communities across the country.
Pre-School and ECCE Now an Institutional Priority
For the first time in India’s history, pre-school education and early childhood care (ECCE) are receiving institutional recognition under NEP 2020. Pradhan emphasized that this marks a major shift in ensuring strong foundational learning during early years, setting the stage for lifelong success.
He added that NEP 2020 Viksit Bharat 2047 is not only modern in approach but also rooted in India’s civilisational values, where learning is central to nation-building.
Pradhan paid homage to Dr. K Kasturirangan, who spearheaded the policy’s vision. “His vision wasn’t just aspirational—it was transformative. He reimagined Indian education for the 21st century,” the Minister said.
Launch of TARA App
At the event, the Union Minister inaugurated multiple educational projects, unveiled TARA App and My Career Advisor App, and launched initiatives worth over ₹4,000 crore aimed at strengthening the education ecosystem.
Also present were Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, State Education Ministers, Vice-Chancellors, and leading academicians from across the country.
Reading out Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message, MoS Jayant Chaudhary noted that education in the mother tongue, a focus on skill development, and research-driven innovation are now cornerstones of India’s education policy.
“NEP 2020 is playing a vital role in holistic and multidimensional student development,” the Prime Minister stated.
