New Delhi: Odisha is set to host the Global Energy Summit in Puri from December 5 to 7, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo announced while unveiling the event’s logo and website in New Delhi on Monday. He shared details about the summit’s objectives, schedule, and its importance for India’s energy future.

Global Energy Summit in Puri to Witness Participation from 25 States

Singh Deo revealed that Energy Ministers from 25 states are expected to attend the event. Several states have already confirmed participation, while confirmations from others are awaited. The summit will also see international delegates representing multiple countries, giving Odisha a prominent place in the global energy dialogue.

Union Ministers to Attend Odisha’s Global Energy Summit

Union Ministers Shripad Yesso Naik and Pralhad Joshi have confirmed their presence, while confirmation from Manohar Lal is expected soon. The Deputy CM noted that the summit aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to achieve a Zero Carbon Footprint by 2070, promoting sustainable and clean energy development.

Odisha’s Leadership in Energy Sector Highlighted

Highlighting Odisha’s achievements, Singh Deo stated that the state has been a pioneer in power sector reforms and was the first in the country to privatize electricity distribution. Odisha continues to maintain a surplus power status, demonstrating its efficiency and innovation in energy management.

Summit to Showcase Odisha’s Energy Model

The Global Energy Summit in Puri will serve as a platform to showcase Odisha’s energy success story, discuss renewable initiatives, and encourage other states to adopt effective energy frameworks. Singh Deo emphasized that the summit will significantly enhance Odisha’s national and international reputation in energy innovation, sustainability, and policy leadership.
