Bhubaneswar: Corona infection cases in Odisha were low yesterday. 15 corona-infected people were detected in the state, while today 37 infected people were detected in the state in the last 24 hours.
Similarly, 7 corona-infected people have been identified from the state in under 18 years. 22 cases have been detected from the quarantine center while 15 cases have been detected from local contacts. This has been informed by the State Information and Public Relations Department.
Among those identified from Odisha today, one each from Bhadrak and Balangiri, 5 from Cuttack, and 2 from Deogarh. 8 have been identified from Khurda, one from Koraput. Along with this, 2 from Nuapada, one from Puri, 4 from Sambalpur, 11 from Sundergarh have been identified. Similarly, one person has been identified from the state pool.
Till date 3 crores 38 lakh 43 thousand 598 samples have been tested in Odisha. Among them, 13 lakh 36 thousand 169 infected people have been identified. Yesterday, 33 people recovered, totalling 13 lakh 26 thousand 654 people. So far 259 people are being treated in the state.

India has reported 1,046 new Covid cases in 24 hours, taking the case tally in the country to 4,46,54,638, data announced by the Union government on Tuesday stated.
The death increased to 5,29,077 with 53 fatalities, including 46 deaths reconciled by Goa and three by Kerala, in the data.
According to Tuesday’s data, the active covid cases declined to 17,618 with a drop of 294 such cases in 24 hours. Active cases comprise 0.04 percent of total infections in India.
The national recovery rate increased to 98.78 percent, the government said.
The number of people who have recovered from the covid disease surged to 4,41,07,943, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent. According to the health ministry covid bulletin, 219.64 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
