Operation Akraman: 71 FIRs registered, 118 held in Gurugram
Gurugram: On Sunday, Gurugram Police conducted ‘Operation Akraman’ to apprehend those involved in criminal activities such as narcotics and booze smuggling.
A police official stated that 71 FIRs were registered during the operation, and 118 people, including 48 proclaimed offenders, were apprehended in the district within the last 24 hours.
He stated that the arrests were made as part of ‘Operation Akraman,’ which was carried out on the directives of the DGP of Haryana.
He stated that while 214 teams of 975 cops were involved in the drive, the police were able to apprehend a huge number of criminals or suspects involved in various forms of illegal activity.
He stated that the police have recovered illegal liquor (1013.5 bottles of country liquor, 150.25 bottles of English liquor, and 98 bottles of beer), 478 grams of ganja, nine grams of MDMA, one CNG auto rickshaw, one car, ten iPhones, one laptop, and Rs 25,000 in cash from the accused.
“Additionally, 14 challans for black film vehicles, 13 challans for using mobiles while driving, and 189 challans for wrong-lane driving were also issued,” according to the spokesperson.
He went on to say that police teams arrested two people in a murder case with a prize of Rs 20,000 each, two people suspected of fraud, two people accused of burglary, and three people accused of vehicle theft, as well as two people who were missing.
“Gurugram Police takes effective action by conducting specific campaigns from time to time to tighten the noose around offenders and reduce crime. “Such campaigns will continue in the future,” said Vikas Kumar Arora, Commissioner of Gurugram Police.
He went on to say that the Gurugram Police Department encourages people to always respect the law and that if they have any knowledge about a crime or criminal, they should notify the police promptly via whatever method.
