Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-hyped action spectacle War 2 has entered its third week but is now showing signs of slowing down. On its fifteenth day, the film managed to earn only ₹94 lakh (till 8 PM), bringing its total India collection to ₹230.69 crore.
From Strong Start to Decline
The Yash Raj Films production, directed by Ayan Mukerji, opened with a massive ₹52 crore on Day 1 (August 14). The film also benefited from an extended Independence Day weekend and a direct clash with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. However, after two strong weeks, collections have started dropping significantly in the third week.
Here’s how War 2 fared earlier this week:
- Monday (Day 12): ₹2.15 crore
- Tuesday (Day 13): ₹2.75 crore
- Wednesday (Day 14): ₹2.5 crore
Day 15 Occupancy Report
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, War 2 recorded 6.30% Hindi occupancy on August 28.
- Morning Shows – 5.03%
- Afternoon Shows – 6.87%
- Evening Shows – 7.01%
In Telugu, occupancy stood at 12.69% with:
- Morning Shows – 12.71%
- Afternoon Shows – 13.89%
- Evening Shows – 11.46%
OTT Release Update
The makers have already confirmed that Netflix has acquired digital rights for War 2. While no official streaming date has been announced, Bollywood films generally debut on OTT 6–8 weeks after theatrical release. Based on this timeline, War 2 is expected to arrive on Netflix between September 25 and October 9, 2025.
About the Film
War 2 is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. This time, Hrithik is joined by Telugu superstar Jr NTR, making the film a pan-India action extravaganza. Produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, the movie is written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, based on an original story by Chopra.
