14 Odisha Police Officers Honoured with Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak for Exemplary Service

Bhubaneswar: Fourteen officers and personnel of the Odisha Police have been awarded the prestigious Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak for their outstanding performance in special operations, investigation, and intelligence work.

Among the awardees is Gundala Reddy Raghavendra, who served as Superintendent of Police (SP), Nuapada, during a major joint anti-Naxal operation conducted by Odisha Police and Chhattisgarh Police in January this year. The operation led to the elimination of 16 Maoists, marking one of the most successful security offensives in the region. Raghavendra is currently serving as the SP of Jharsuguda.

Recognition for Excellence in Investigation

Three officers, including Commissionerate Police’s Himansu Bhushan Swain, received the Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak in the field of investigation for their professionalism and commitment to upholding justice through effective policing.

Award Encourages Professional Standards and Morale

The Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak is conferred by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to recognise officers demonstrating exceptional dedication and efficiency in special operations, investigation, intelligence, and forensic science. The award aims to promote high professional standards and boost the morale of police personnel across the country.

Odisha Police officials expressed pride in the recognition, stating that such honours reaffirm the force’s commitment to maintaining internal security and delivering justice with integrity.
