  • Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh smashed quick fifties

Chandigarh: The PBKS vs SRH IPL 2026 match turned into a batting spectacle as Punjab Kings pulled off a stunning chase of 220 runs in just 18.5 overs. Led by a composed knock from captain Shreyas Iyer and explosive starts from Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, PBKS maintained their unbeaten streak this season.

The victory strengthens Punjab’s position in the points table, with seven points from four matches, including one abandoned game.

PBKS vs SRH IPL 2026 Match Highlights

Punjab Kings got off to a dream start while chasing a massive target. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh dominated the powerplay, scoring freely against SRH bowlers.

Arya smashed a 16-ball fifty, the second-fastest in PBKS history, finishing with 57 off just 20 balls. Prabhsimran followed with a quick 51 off 24 balls as PBKS raced to 93 without loss in the powerplay.

Despite losing both openers quickly after the powerplay, Punjab stayed ahead of the required rate.

Shreyas Iyer Leads PBKS vs SRH IPL 2026 Chase

Shreyas Iyer played a captain’s knock, anchoring the innings under pressure. He built a crucial partnership with Nehal Wadhera, rotating strike and punishing loose deliveries.

Iyer accelerated in the later stages, bringing up his fifty in 24 balls and finishing unbeaten on 69. Shashank Singh supported him with a steady 16 not out as PBKS chased down the target with seven balls remaining.

SRH Batting Effort Goes in Vain

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a massive 219/6 after a blistering start. Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a rapid 78 off 28 balls, while Travis Head contributed 38 in a 120-run opening stand.

However, SRH lost momentum after the dismissals of both openers. Heinrich Klaasen’s 39 off 33 balls failed to provide the late acceleration needed.

Punjab bowlers, led by Shashank Singh and Arshdeep Singh, pulled things back effectively in the death overs.

Key Performers and Turning Point

Priyansh Arya’s explosive powerplay hitting set the tone for the chase, putting SRH under immediate pressure.

Shivang Kumar was the standout bowler for SRH with figures of 3/33, but lacked support from others.

The turning point came when PBKS maintained a high scoring rate even after losing wickets, ensuring the chase never slipped out of control.

What This Means for IPL 2026 Standings

Punjab Kings continue their unbeaten run, emerging as strong contenders this season. Their batting depth and aggressive approach make them a dangerous side.

For SRH, despite posting a huge total, bowling concerns remain a major issue.

If PBKS maintain this form, they could be serious title challengers in IPL 2026.
