Describing the occasion as a “golden chapter” in Odisha’s industrial development, the Chief Minister said the state is moving steadily towards becoming the “Steel Capital” of India.
The integrated steel complex will be developed in two phases and is expected to produce nearly 24 million tonnes of steel annually.
The project will also include:

- Cruise terminal development
- Mega shipbuilding complex
- Port-led economic growth
The Chief Minister also highlighted plans for the Paradip-Cuttack-Bhubaneswar-Puri Economic Corridor, expected to receive Rs 5,000 crore in central assistance.
