The visit will give the Chief Minister a direct assessment of damage, conditions faced by residents and the progress of emergency assistance.
Majhi is expected to meet officials, review relief and rehabilitation operations and assess the immediate needs of affected communities. Officials will brief him on the extent of damage and measures already being implemented.
The field visit comes as the state government increases administrative deployment in districts facing the greatest impact from flooding and heavy rain.

During his visit, Majhi will examine the condition of affected areas and review the assistance reaching residents.
A key focus will be damage assessment and rehabilitation, as authorities work to determine what additional support is required. A first-hand assessment by the Chief Minister could also help speed up decisions on relief measures where local administrations are facing pressure from the scale of the flooding.
The state has simultaneously strengthened its administrative response by cancelling leave for government employees. Officials who had already gone on leave have been instructed to return and support ongoing relief operations.
Odisha Flood Relief 2026 Gets Senior Officer Deployment

- K Sudarshan Chakraborty, Managing Director of Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation, has been assigned to Baleshwar.
- P Anwesha Reddy, Excise Commissioner, has been assigned to Jajpur.
These officers will remain in their respective districts and supervise flood preparedness, relief distribution and rehabilitation measures.
Odisha Flood Response Focuses on Relief and Rehabilitation
The deployment of senior officials is intended to strengthen coordination between district administrations and the state government.
Keeping officers on the ground can help authorities identify gaps in relief delivery, coordinate essential supplies and monitor the needs of displaced or affected families. It also gives the state government a clearer picture of where additional resources may be required.
Majhi’s visit to Bhadrak and Jajpur is expected to provide another layer of direct oversight as the administration responds to the flood situation.
The immediate priority remains assisting affected residents and restoring essential services. The damage assessment conducted during and after the Chief Minister’s visit will also be important in determining the scale of further relief and rehabilitation measures required across the affected districts.
