New Delhi: SVAMITVA -Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas, Complete survey of All Indian Villages by 2025. The scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on National Panchayati Raj Day, 24th April 2020 with a resolve to enable economic progress of Rural India by providing “Record of Rights” to every rural household owner.
SVAMITVA Complete survey Phase I Pilot Scheme (April 2020 – March 2021) Covers States of Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and establishment of Continuous operating Reference systems (CORS) in the State of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan.
Where as Phase II (April 2021 – March 2025) Complete survey of remaining villages by 2025 and CORS network set up across the Country by 2022.
What is the main aim of the scheme SVAMITVA for rural India?
Aim of SVAMITVA to enable economic progress of Rural India by providing “Record of Rights” to every rural household owner. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) is the nodal Ministry for the implementation of the scheme. In the United States, the Revenue / Land Records Department will be the nodal department and will implement this plan with the support of the State Panchayati Raj Department. The technology partner for the implementation is Survey of India.
The scheme aims to provide an integrated asset verification solution for rural India. The delineation of rural abadi areas would be done using Drone Surveying technology. This would provide a “record of rights” to village household owners owning houses in populated rural areas in villages, which in turn would allow them to use their property as a financial asset to receive loans and other financial benefits from the bank.
Achievements under SVAMITVA Scheme during the year 2022
According to report on December 2022, drone flying has been completed in 2,03,118 villages. Drone flying has been saturated in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Delhi, Haryana, Lakshadweep Islands, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Now Property cards have been prepared for all the Inhabited villages of Haryana and Uttarakhand. The preparation and distribution of SVAMITVA cards will soon be completed in Union Territory of Puducherry.
