President Murmu urges for collective efforts to conserve the environment

President Droupadi Murmu has stated that environmental protection and promotion will only be achieved via ongoing activism based on awareness and collective efforts from everybody. The President made these remarks while launching the National Conference on Environment -2025 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

The National Green Tribunal organised the two-day event. President Droupadi Murmu stated that it is our moral responsibility to leave a legacy of a clean environment to future generations.

She stressed the importance of living an environmentally conscious and sensitive lifestyle in order to conserve the environment. The President stated that reconciling a clean environment with modern growth presents both an opportunity and a difficulty.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav stated that India is working on increasing breakthroughs in low carbon technologies and believes that rapid economic growth is the best defence against climate change for developing countries.

He stated that India is the world’s third largest energy producer and has set a target of 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030. He stated that India is focusing not only on decreasing its carbon footprint, but also on creating millions of employment in the green energy sector.

This meeting is an important step toward encouraging collaboration, creating awareness, and achieving the shared aim of environmental protection and sustainability.
