Harsh Dubey Makes IPL Debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad
Harsh Dubey has made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who will play the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025 today match May 19. He known as Ranji Trophy record-breaker.
Dubey, an all-round bowler, was signed by SRH for Rs 30 lakh to replace R. Smaran. In June, the India A squad, of which he is a member, will go to England.
He took the place of Travis Head, the Australian opener who was declared out of the match after returning to the squad late because of a COVID-19 infection.
Harsh Dubey Ranji Trophy record-breaker
Indian cricketer Harsh Dubey is a talented player who has risen quickly through the ranks. Dubey is an all-around left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who was born in Pune, Maharashtra, on July 23, 2002. In domestic cricket, he plays for Vidarbha, and he helped them win Ranji last season. Despite the 22-year-old’s wealth of talent, Harsh’s cricketing journey was spurred by an unexpected event.
In the 2024–25 season, Dubey set a new record for the most wickets taken by a player in a single season with 69 in the Ranji Trophy. He also added 472 runs to the Ranji Trophy, making him a member of the elite all-rounders’ list. The SRH player, who was formerly tutored by Ravichandran Ashwin in the TNCA First Division League, is renowned for his precision and exceptional ball-handling abilities.
Harsh has played in 18 first-class matches since making his Vidarbha debut in December 2022, taking 97 wickets at a remarkable average of 19.88.
He hasn’t yet achieved the same level of success in white-ball cricket, though. Despite maintaining an inexpensive T20 pace of 6.78, he has claimed nine wickets in 16 T20 matches and 21 wickets in 20 List A matches.
