Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan urged the people of Odisha to take booster dose soon

Published on

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requested the people of Odisha through a video message to stay healthy by taking Booster Dose Corona Vaccine. The Government of India has joined the 75-day special campaign that started Booster Dose from July 15th on the occasion of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.

Shri Pradhan through this message said that today the corona infection is increasing again in the country. Keeping this in mind, the Indian government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is emphasizing on rapid vaccination for the safety of every citizen of the country. In just 18 months of the outbreak of Covid, India has made history worldwide by vaccinating more than 200 crores, which is good news. Due to the able and strong leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has achieved this huge success in the world today. The country has strengthened its own health infrastructure by making safe and effective Covid vaccines available, as well as ensuring an accelerated vaccination process. Its success is due to the tireless efforts of millions of doctors, health workers and scientists across the country and we are all indebted to them.

First two doses of covid and now booster dose are being given free of charge by the government of India for the protection of the citizens. A special campaign has been started from July 15 to 75 days during Amrit period to give booster dose. In this campaign, citizens above 18 years of age are being vaccinated free of charge at government vaccination centres. But Odisha’s rate of taking the covid booster dose is lower than the national average.  87 ercent of citizens of Odisha have not received booster dose vaccine till now.

Similarly, by 4th August, 3 crore 23 lakh citizens in Odisha have already taken the first and second dose of vaccine. Only 42 lakh 34 thousand people have taken booster dose. 10 percent of senior citizens have not taken the first dose of vaccine so far in six districts of the state namely Cuttack, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Puri and Angul. Around 25 lakh citizens in 8 districts of the state have not taken the second dose of vaccine.

Now there is a risk of increasing covid infection in rainy season. Vaccination is the only weapon to fight this covid epidemic. So those who are eligible to take the pre-precaution dose should immediately go to the nearest government hospital and take the dose without delay. Encourage those who have not received a booster dose to receive the vaccine. Keep your family, community, state and country safe. Giving due respect to the efforts of health workers and scientists with booster doses. Shri Pradhan has called upon the citizens to further expand our fight against covid and celebrate the nectar festival of freedom.
