PM Modi Assures Help After Uttarkashi Cloudburst Tragedy in Dharali

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern over the tragic cloudburst in Uttarkashi’s Dharali that triggered flash floods and claimed at least four lives. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, sweeping away multiple houses in the high-altitude region known as a key stopover en route to Gangotri.

Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi said, “I express my condolences to the people affected by this tragedy in Dharali, Uttarkashi. I am praying for the well-being of all the victims. I have spoken to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ji and taken a full update on the situation.”

He further assured that all necessary relief and rescue operations were underway and affirmed, “No stone is being left unturned in providing assistance to the people.”

Rescue Efforts Underway in Dharali After Uttarkashi Cloudburst

The Uttarkashi cloudburst caused flash floods in Dharali, a village well-known for its hotels, homestays, and restaurants catering to pilgrims and tourists heading to Gangotri. Several homes and buildings were reportedly swept away by the sudden deluge.

In response, an Army team from Harsil was immediately dispatched to assist local authorities with search, rescue, and relief operations.

Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami is closely monitoring the situation, and teams from disaster response units are working in coordination with the Army and local administration to ensure the safety of affected residents and tourists.
