Asaduddin Owaisi Hits Back at Pakistan PM: “BrahMos Hai Humaare Paas”

Published on

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi issued a sharp response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s warning over the Indus Waters Treaty, asserting that “BrahMos hai humaare paas” in reference to India’s long-range supersonic missile.

Addressing the media, Owaisi criticised Sharif for making “nonsense” statements, adding, “He is a Prime Minister. Such language will not affect India.” He reminded that India had suspended the Indus Waters Treaty after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, and warned that threats from Pakistan “won’t work”.

Indus Waters Treaty Dispute and Owaisi BrahMos Remark

The Indus Waters Treaty, signed in 1960, was put on hold following accusations of Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has made it clear that the treaty will remain suspended until Pakistan permanently abandons such activities.

In Islamabad, Sharif recently declared that “India can’t snatch even a single drop of water from Pakistan” and vowed retaliation if any attempt was made. His remarks come amid a series of provocative statements from Pakistani leadership, including Army Chief Asim Munir’s controversial nuclear threat.

India’s Firm Response to Nuclear and Water Threats

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs condemned Pakistan’s “nuclear sabre-rattling”, calling it a hallmark of its political-military establishment. The ministry emphasised that India “will not give in to nuclear blackmail” and will take all necessary measures to safeguard national security.
